One ferry to Ometepe, a good hostel (e.g. Hacienda Merdia on the South Island) and you will be fine on Ometepe ! Views on volcanoes and lake 24/24 !

Leon was a nice surpise ! Super nice to wal around the city. We spend an afternoon to climb the Telica volcano sunset and lava at night (from far) 🙂 and one afternoon & sunset in Las Penitas (for both tours are available from Leon !

Nicaragua: Little Corn
We walked around the island to explore the different beaches, mostly in the North, in the Eastern part of the island, and the South West (cliffs) !
Hotels & restaurants
- Hotel : Las Palmeras
Nice service and rooms with chairs outside. View on the ocean but no direct access to the beach but good situation to access the whole island. A bit disappointed by the food at the hotel. - Lighthouse hostels / restaurant
Stop there for a drink or grab a bite when going to the Lightouse point behind the hostel to have a nice view. Hotel is apparently very nice too and you have both sunrise and sunset from your bungalows ! Led by nice French people ! - Desideri Cucina, Café & Casalinga
Delicious restaurant with Italian food - Tranquilo Café also nice
- Yemaha Hotel : Nice beach close to the hotel but do not go there for food (overpriced for what it is)
Activities
- North beach close to Yemaha: Very nice to lie on it (difficult on other beaches) / available there : scubadiving tours
- West/North beaches: Very nice for the sunset
- South west: close to many restaurants, going to the south it is very nice view (cliffs)
- East of the Island : Nice to walk, a lot of palms (where you will find kitesurfing)
- Lighthouse view
- Imagine yourself on the baseball field lost in the middle of the island

Nicaragua landscapes consist in a mix of beautiful beaches, volcanoes, lakes, green, tropical forests and colorfull cities !

In addition, you will meet animals everywhere, speak Spanish and travel by tuk tuk bikes, horses, motorbikes, chicken bus (old school buses) 🙂
Food is simple & ok (but definitely not the best I’ve seen), for the breakfast, you will get gallopinto (mix of beans and rice), eggs, breads and some fruits and you will drink fruit juice and of course Tona (local beer) !

- Arrival in Managua (“Manawa”) from Paris -FR (traonsfer via Atlanta / US) – 1/2 day : Plane to Big Corn (La Costena), taxi transfer to the pangga (boat) for Little Corn Island
- 2 days in Little Corn Island (and transfer back to Managua)
- 2 days in Leon : Transfer Managua (UCA) to Leon via small bus, visit of Leon, visit of Volcano Telica, Afternoon in Las Penitas
- 2 days in San Juan (scooter tour to spend times in the different beaches)
- 2 days in Ometepe
- 1 day in Apoyo Lagoon
- 1 day in Granada
- 1 afternoon in Managua
NB:
- Possibility to climb other volcanoes in Leon (Cerro Negro to surf on it / black volcano / no lava visible), in Granada (Masaya: for the lava but only 15min on the top and crowded) and Ometepe (Maderas and Concepcion)
- While in Granada, day-trip possible for volcano Masaya and Isletas (boat trip accross small islands in the Nica lake)
- On the Carribean Coast, an alternative to Corn Islands is Pearl Lagoon and you can also do boat trips from Blufields to the North or cruise on San Juan river in the south (we did not have the time to do it)

Indonesia: Canggu
A prononcer “Tchèngou”, sinon les locaux ne vous comprendront pas ;-).
Je suis restée à Canggu longtemps, bien plus longtemps que prévu initialement. Les 2 jours se sont transformés en 2 semaines…
J’y ai appris le surf avec Yudhi, indonésien multifacette (pâtissier la nuit, et prof de yoga et de surf au petit matin). Les réveils à 5h du matin pour aller surfer au lever du soleil sur la vague de Old Man étaient sans souffrance. La famille qui m’a accueilli dans sa petite auberge me déposait des fleurs sur mon scooter tous les jours pour me protéger.
Canggu, c’est hispter, c’est des jus frais tous les matins et des avocado toasts, mais c’est aussi l’ambiance balinaise avec les temples et les rizières alentours.
UAE: Dubai / Oman: Jebel Shams
Je suis passée voir mon amie Albane, expatriée à Dubai depuis quelques années. En période de Ramadan,, il fait très chaud et le rythme de vie est completement différent (par exemple il est impossible de manger ou boire dans les rues avant le coucher du soleil, Dubai mall est vide, de même pour les rues)…
Nous sommes parties en road-trip de 2 jours à Oman. Une voiture et google maps sur le téléphone, il ne nous en fallait pas plus. Les routes caillouteuses, les descentes et les montées, rien ne nous a arrêté ! Nous avons fait de belles rencontres: une chevre très sympa et un couple d’anglais à qui nous avons annonce le Brexit (un choc pour eux et quelques larmes). Les canyons de Jebel Shams sont impressionnants et magnifiques.
Germany: Berlin
La dernière étape de mon périple de 6 mois a été Berlin. Visite à ma sister sur place. J’y ai fait les grands classiques, même en les ayant déjà fait – on ne se lasse pas.
Il y a le Berlin face, avec la coupole du Reichstag, la porte de Brandenburg, etc…et puis il y a le coté pile: les tags, les quartiers alternatifs. 🙂 Photos ci dessous de 3 jours de marche dans la ville.
Indonesia / Bali: Ubud
A Ubud nous avons décidé de nous excentrer du centre touristique et de prendre un hôtel dans les rizières…Ubud c’est la ville que l’on peut faire en dernier pour acheter les cadeaux pour ses proches tellement il y a de choix. Mais il y a aussi énormément de choses à visiter autour: Pura Gunung Kawi et Pura Tirta Empul, les rizières en terrasse de Tegalagang, les plus aventuriers iront faire un tour d’une journée sur le volcan Batur.
